Historical inquiry posits that Maria Tevar’s roots extend to the town of Bato in Catanduanes, situated within the province of Sorsogon, Bicol. Maternal ties link her to Florentino Tevar, whose union with Telesfora Lorino yielded four descendants.
Compelling archival evidence attests to the importation of the surname Tevar to the Philippine archipelago by Spanish settlers, who subsequently established residence in Manila. Notably, the Spanish Tevars carried a distinguished coat of arms, thus providing a foundational template for the heraldic representation attributed to Maria Tevar within the context of genealogical inquiry.
